Solace Sleep

When I visit the solace sleep,
my eyes shut its door
against the weariness of the mind
and my grounded fur.
Embalmed are all rue
begotten by my sun and moon.
my eyes open its lead
to the land christened Eden
where peace's seed serves as feed.
my spirit dances like Cinderella
in the hall of dreams
to the lyrics of the gracious sleep.
sleep, the green land where all grins.
yet, said the proverbial man
a little sleep; a little slumber
makes poverty sound a little louder!
