Malaika

I need an angel by my side
To be the sand that calms the ocean’s tide
An angel to light my path and be my guide
To stand firm with hate aside

I’ve found you in whom my hopes reside
The only one I give my heart to possess
For you alone I make my empress
To whom my professed love is bona fide

Long, long journey to join a firm family
Now close to feast with the Iron Lady
With her backing, my love is secured
For her counsel, my wedlock is insured

I habour in my heart a strange joy
A joy that feels like a dream-come true
And all become clear ...

The Red Note

As little as its value
Without grace or honour
Oblivion to the poor
And a door mat to the rich

Yet the red note is even tougher
Than the garrisons of the coast of gold
That appears dauntless and invincible
But a mirage to the red note
