A light in the church's beacon,
The man that many Christians look upon
From day one.

Did you ever hate someone
Just because a friend or a family member did,
Did you ever wished that they were gone
As you happily prayed for their existence you could forever rid.

In the cracked concrete a blade of grass was growing
Unto the world it's wonder it was showing,
It pushed itself up through the concrete from the earth below
Now proving to the world in awe that it too would grow.

Gossip lives when it's spread by evil doers
Those who keep their minds and their thoughts in the sewers,
And it spreads like a contaminant and a viral disease
With every gulp of air that the gossiper will wheeze.

I pity the poor waitress
Wearing her short pants or a dress,
As she must always be pleasant and also wear a smile
Even when she's treated with humility and/ or guile.

19 children dead
What more could be said,
19 children gunned down
Their lifeless bodies fell to the ground.

Could you imagine if you never stood for gun control
Could you imagine if you told your child this will never happen to them,
Could you imagine if you promised that from the bottom of your soul
Could you imagine if then in their memory you sang them a hymn.
...

You can scream that you love Christ with all your might
Every Sunday you sit with friends in the very same pews,
You can tell the world your belief with every word you write
And then later, you sing hymns praising the king of the Jews.

I asked her again why
Her hair she constantly does dye,
Is she going out to party or to court
No, she said, life is too short.

With Jesus would you take a walk
After you had heard him talk,
Speaking to the woman standing at the well
And then a forgiveness to her he did tell.
