I have read a couple of poems by Richard Theze to my hearts delight. His poems are written in an easy to understand language and style which comes straight from the heart and impacts the reader immensely. The undercurrents of his imagery are often thought provoking. I convey my best wishes to him.

The Red Flower

Red flowers
Not blue
Mark the
A symbol
I take it
In timeless
To honour
The brave
Who stood
To their beliefs
And lie now
Bones and teeth
Below ground
The flowers grew

Missed Opportunity

You knocked
Too quietly
Upon my door
Too quietly
Your name
I thought
I heard you say
I knew you not
We hadn’t met
I dared not
Take the chance
To trust
So perfect a stranger
And so
The moment passed
So did you
