Broken Dreams

As I swim past this vast violent sea,
Of life’s processes of agony and glee,
I am caught in the web of sea currents,
Who pull back my fins and no solace rent.

I breathe through my dreams,
But they are shattered by these extremes,
And I gasp and gasp in vain,
And suffer bouts of pain.
