I heard your poem 'Living Proof' on Poetry please but have been unable to find any reference to it. I thought it was so true. I have kept a note of the title ever since but can't find it.

I love Roger McGough's work but can tell which one of Roger's books contain 'Vow'. I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

Hi All. The other day I was reminded of a poem by Roger about a grandma who her family thought was mad because she remembered going outside (& some other stuff.) As the poem progresses you realize that she isn’t mad but some th8ngs that seem natural now are not possible in the future due to acid rain. Anyone know it’s name? I’m trying to find it on t’internet but can’t find it (or am I the one that’s going mad! ]

Let Me Die A Youngman's Death

Let me die a youngman's death
not a clean and inbetween
the sheets holywater death
not a famous-last-words
peaceful out of breath death

When I'm 73
and in constant good tumour
may I be mown down at dawn
by a bright red sports car
on my way home
from an allnight party

Or when I'm 91
with silver hair
and sitting in a barber's chair
may rival gangsters
with hamfisted tommyguns burst in
and give me a short back and insides

Or when I'm 104
and banned from the Cavern
may my mistress
catching me in bed with her daughter
and ...

The Trouble With Snowmen

'The trouble with snowmen,'
Said my father one year
'They are no sooner made
than they just disappear.

I'll build you a snowman
And I'll build it to last
Add sand and cement
And then have it cast.
