Thank God For Friends

I'm thankful for these friends of mine
they've helped me through my troubled times.
They've shown me how much they really care
and I thank them all for being there.

What is a friend? , someone once asked.
It is a friendship that will always last.
A friend will sit and listen to you
then pick you up if you're feeling' blue.

A friend is someone you can trust
you'd help them to, this is a must.
A friend will laugh and cry with you
They'd put you first, that's what they'd do.

There's an urgency in which no-one can contest
we all need a little help here, for we're in such a mess.
A state of emergency, the economy is so depressed...
and the rich keep getting richer...and the poor man does the rest.

I've seen a lot and I've lived just a little
and I've tried to climb higher, But I'm stuck here in the middle.
I once had a dream had a chance never took it
and that kicked my ass, so many thought I overlooked it.
