I mean to say this: See how Sam beautifully marries the divine with the human: 'only the one who has experieced human love can authoritatively speak of a divine love', he seems to be saying.

See how Sam beautifully marries the divine with the human: 'only those who have truly loved' could possibly experience and live the love of God.

This poem seem to attempt the querry: why do people in love feel pain?

Now you've posted more poems here, Samuel - just to affirm what I said before: you have a beautiful honest direct writing, of course you should comment on your own life, and don't be put off by any lack of 'rating' or comment... you're 'somebody' already, not 'someday'!

It is a pity that my earlier comment had to be written twice. There was a spelling error in the first; I couldn't live with the thought of having published an error for the world to see without it's being corrected - don't call me finicky!

i think one may comment on himself - it is allowed in african tradition. if you read my poem 'in a hurry' you can see how i felt about my mother's death; but i have long come to appreciate the fact that life is not all about death. actually life is all about life!

A big thankyou, Samuel, and I agree - you have a beautiful talent for telling the truth, simple and direct.
You may have noticed that this site has a 62% audience of Americans, as many fiercely anti-church as pro-church - so don't be surprised if you get some sharp comments - or no comments at all! But I look forward as you do, to reading your 'tomorrow' poems.
Best wishes. On this site, you can never be an orphan...

Samuel is one of the most talented writers I have read on this site. He has such a wonderful way of putting things down. It is such a pleasure to read his poems.

I Believe

I believe I shall succeed
I believe I shall be an inspiration
I believe my troubles are temporary
I believe I shall be rich
I believe I shall swell wide
I believe I shall take on the world
I believe I shall speak of wealth
I believe I shall carry sufferers along
I believe I shall show how I made it from nothing
I believe in God
I believe that he is taking me somewhere
I believe that the darkness of today gives way
I believe, I believe, I believe.

Tsunami's Fate.

There has been disaster late
In the vast Asian estate
Groups and people now donate
Steady they Tsunami's fate
Gifts or money they will pay
Sizes which no one can say
It has always been the way
Now to give or least to pray
Struck though not by human sword
