Seddik Jelouane Biography

Seddik Jelouane is a Moroccan published poet of four books: 'Bittersweet', 'Somewhere or Another', 'BECOMING', and 'Moon Ink'. He holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature, and is an alumnus of the Olive Writers Creative Writing program third edition. Seddik is the founder of Moroccan Poets collective, as well as Dar America's Poetry Club. His prior experiences circle around leading poetry workshops, moderating book events, and coordinating cultural projects. Seddik Jelouane was recognized and celebrated as a brilliant talent by the US Embassy on World Poetry Day in 2021.)

Fading Stars

He accidentally hits his toe with the table..
And suddenly sees the stars shining in the dark,
If it weren't painful..
He'd definitely enjoy the stars,
But you know..
Beautiful things come after the suffering,
And leave once you get used to the pain,
Yet for the sake of that wonderful view..
He goes again and hits his toe in the exact same way,
Now his whole body is aching..
Except there were no stars this time,
Because he forgets that..
Beautiful things come when we aren't expecting them to,
And fade away..
The first moment we start noticing them,
That's the reason you don't get what you want..
When you pretend to be what you aren't,
What should he do?
Well live his life in a normal way..
And let the stars find him,
