The Sound Of Silence
I gave you time, but I still wait.
Time is a silence I cannot escape.
I'm waiting for you to walk through the door.
For everything to be as it was before.
Silence is a tremendous sound-
When you can only hear your heart pound.
The thud, thud, thud of silence fills my head.
It lulls me to sleep in our bed.
He was a minister who had lost his way.
Inside was a monster bursting forth to get away.
He was demented, he was indiscreet;
He was picking prostitutes off the street.
They weren't missed; not right away.
He had lots of time with them to play.
He enjoyed them, forced them into submission.
But domination wasn't his only mission.
