In longing I will never realize

A new day begins
And suddenly light reminds us
There is still love of life in the world
It is not all grief and gloom

Once I heard a good word about a poem of mine
I took heart
Perhaps what I write can mean something after all
Some stranger

I WORRY

Even though I live in happiness most of the time
I worry
...

THE LONG DAY OF ANXIETY

The long day of anxiety
Moves toward a quieter evening
...

In my old age
I suddenly grow confident
I have lived through so much uncertainty
Seen so much injustice and suffering
...

MAKING A NEW FRIEND IN OLD AGE

Making a new friend in old age
Is like Beginning again
...

OH FOR ONE POEM AT LAST

Oh for one poem at last
That would put an end to poetry for me
...

WRITING IS LIVING

I have time today to write
But nothing to say
...
