Shawn Marie Edmiston
Biography of Shawn Marie Edmiston
I began to write poetry around the age of 12. I have gone through significant lulls in my work, but have somehow managed to write over 300 pieces chronicling my life and loves. I have always found it easier to let my feelings flow out through a pen or my fingers than to verbalize them. Some of my favorite poets are e.e. cummings, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson, Oriah and of course Maya Angelou.

My super power is control over my emotions. Love hard, than shut it down until the next round. You might be my kryptonite if didn't know better If I wasn't able to turn and leave my feelings somewhere
Daylight Savings Time
An hour gained is nothing When it’s all been said It’s your last day here And my last day here with you.
You Are a special Kind of crazy, Not
You Know And Still
You know me. You know me better Than almost anyone Maybe everyone,
I was fine. Emotionally dead, but fine with it
You were a memory Short and sweet erotic and innocent A good memory Now that we have materialized
Separation from you cured nothing From 12,000 miles you still controlled The rate of my breath and the beats of my heart. The days that had passed were 745
Ma Couer, Tunisie
I can feel it, taste it, smell it. Tunisia, the Mediterranean, the Sahara. I wince as I close my eyes And transport myself back
