She stood in the corner
where she tried to hide.
She had been beaten
and she felt dead inside.
The fight was over
or that's what she thought.
Once again the punches
proved she was caught.
She tried to escape
all the pain felt inside..
She quickly passed out
with the tears she cried.
'Nobody likes you! '
The words echoed aloud.
She was left on the ground
and the bullies were proud.
Nobody saw the danger
nor did they seem to care.
They called her names
and left her lying there.
Suddenly all was quiet
and she awoke...
Beautiful Old House
It stands tall upon the land
but it doesn't carry pride.
The door is a dark brown
and it welcomes all inside.
Some have entered quietly
into this house upon a hill.
Safe inside with good feeling
it shines ever brightly still.
