Peter Imbert was a friend that I met in 1951 at Royal Air Force Swanton Morley. I was a regular airman, he was serving his National Service commitment. We were cadet signallers (an aircrew trade) . He was an amazing character with a huge sense of humour. He kept an imaginary dog called Cuthbert) which he used to take on parade with him. All one could see was a dog lead trailing on the ground. The discipline NCO was a bit baffled! I lost track of him after we qualified, . Then many years later discovered what he had achieved after his death. I was so thrilled to have known him even for such a short time and was regretful that I had not maintained our friendship. A lovely man.
