First Snow

Racing down the icy street,
a snowball flies past my head.
I swivel around, searching,
but my quarry has already fled.
Crouching down behind a car,
I grab a lump of snow.
Slowly forming it into a ball,
waiting for him to show.
He peeks his head around a tree,
I stand up with a cry.
He turns to run, and as he does
I nail him in the eye!
