'Ode To Autumn'

The days grow shorter, a cooler wind blows.
Leaves mingle with raindrops, in colors so bold.
Short sleeves become sweaters, and frost becomes foe
as it embraces our windows, in a milky lace glow.

A ruckus of noise, anticipation fills the air
as birds make their plans to vacation elsewhere.
While squirrels and chipmunks busily prepare,
hoarding their stores, as if none were to spare.
