Biography of Susan Bagley
At the age of six I wrote my first poem titled 'Snowflakes'. My teacher told my mother that I had a way with words. I have shamefully neglected that gift and have fewer than 125 poems to my name. I do love reading poetry and always gain from the gifts and talents of others. Perhaps in sharing some of my own verse I will likewise enrich others.
Some of the poets I love to read are Wordsworth, Elizabeth Browning, Shakespeare, Sara Teasdale, Edna St. Vincent Milay, Petrarch, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, William Blake and that is just a few. It is such a thrilling experience to share my love of writing and reading poetry with other poets here on poemhunter.
I have loved and I have lost love. I have raised two wonderful sons. I have four beautiful grandchildren! I have nearly lost my life (too close) in a fire. I have done without and have been blessed with the genreosity of others. I have given with generosity. In other words, I have Lived! That is what poetry is all about.
Poets share life in words and emotions. We are philosophers and psychiatrists and empathetic friends to the world.
What a blessing!
