How Father Drove The Automobile

when Father saw the Model-T it fairly set him back
As Harry drove it merrily around the paddock track
With Mother there beside him, a-clutching at her hat
And dogs all barking wildly, but where's the blinkin' cat?

When Harry stopped and Mum got out, unsteady on her feet,
The kids piled in with many a shout, all fighting for a seat.
Around the paddock off they went with Harry tooting the horn,
Young 'uns yelling Heaven bent, most fun since they'd been born.

Father thought there's nothing to it. He ought to have a go.
Sure he could do it, he'd driven a cart...
