Drunk At The University

Drunk at the university

Trekking towards another life,
our life's stories get passed on,
the papers burned, the pages gone,
words lost, letters left unfurled,
when we climbed the highest branch,
tethered to our words, others
start the count, falling down like
playing cards, our souls mixed
together in other lives, they
carry over, feeding nature,
while nurture sits this one out.

'And we wonder,
what could have been.'...

Red filaments of sun, going down
there's a quiet voice saying nothing,

the sky holds the feathery moon softly,
rising gold from the opposite horizon,
