Card Game

A group of four men
Sat around a table
Waiting for their cards
To be shuffled and distributed
This is the third round
Winner takes all

Game starts
Silence takes over
Diamond of three
Lands on the center
There is no turning back.

It is cold, windy
Everyone watched with
Excitement
Sweat rolling down slowly
I hold the last card
With a grin on my face

Then it hit me
Even the others know
Those eyes
That smile
That face
Stayed in my memory forever

The last card could be
As simple as
Queen of hearts
But ...
