Tokunbo Otoyo Poems
Another reminder of a life once lived Landmarks, a bond for some to share Painful precursor three days up, seized And death though aware
The number, it's a slow jam Floor already dotted with pairs in motion Identical bodies rhythmically rocking in comfort zones Bodies, vessels driven by various passions, emotions
Home..... She Is Not There
I remember the feeling the last time I saw you How much it was, such temptation there was Like a jinnie, pick you up From your bottle every morn', wake you up
The number, it's a slow jam
Floor already dotted with pairs in motion
Identical bodies rhythmically rocking in comfort zones
Bodies, vessels driven by various passions, emotions
An hour before, I bet you, for some, such reconciliation unknown
Centuries long past, where would they be?
In the thick rain forest of Africa?
Malina, Iroko, African Walnut tree, Mahogany
And all their kind standing tall in their splendor
