The night was showering moonlight
The earth was soaking dewdrops
Two hearts away from the world
Under the constellation of stars
A procession of priests and laymen—
each walk of life represented—
moves through streets, squares, and gates
of the famous city, Antioch.
There were many who went in huddled procession,
They knew not whither;
But, at any rate, success or calamity
Would attend all in equality.
(Le Bestiaire ou Cortège d’Orphée)
Admire the vital power
A PROCESSION OF JUBILATION!
When I had set out for the market the other
Darkness encompasses my space
My future seen bleak, feral beasts hide
Not even a glow worm to throw light
I see no chance of deliverance.
Relatives and friends have gathered
Ambulance carrying cadaver has arrived,
A man who has died is in deep sleep,
His wife and children are crying around,
Everything as usual
Nothing so notable
All around the world
After the re-installation,
Out the Deity was taken
For the street procession,
On an auspicious occasion.
