My hearty congratulations to Ms Valsa George on her being the MOST POPULAR POET in this forum as on 18th of January 2013.

In fact she must have got the rank a few months back...

Most poets over here have great passion for poetry or they are rather with a distinct imaginative mettle perhaps. Ms Valsa George as a poet is gifted with the requisites of passion, imagination and superseding command over English language in its best form used by any non English writer. Though simplicity of language used is often treated as a tool, syntactical superiority of the language used with utmost grammatical accuracy spells out a charm of its own in the case of some poets for whom the same simplicity of the language is not a reflection of a writer`s trait.
Ms Valsa George`s selection of themes has a pervasive charm as she does belong to all seasons or times. The poet here steals the heart of the universal reader within India, across Asia and beyond the Atlantic in equal terms of discerning that goes a long way over here.
Years of exposure to teaching English literature and a wide and close reading of classics and modern literature might well be assumed as the contributing factors for the moulding of Ms Valsa as a poet par excellence.

I WISH MS VALSA ALL THE VERY BEST and may she triumph better for decades.

Best Poem of Valsa George

Wielding a tool, mighty and spiky
Mightier than either the sword or rod
He reigns, monarch in Fancy's domain
Sketching life in fanciful colour and mode

Which with pain and strife fraught
Or bright with gaiety and grace
In finer yarn than the gossamer thread
On the fabric of words in befitting verse

He steals away from the noisy crowd
In to the stillness of the cloistered cell
To dwell with Fancy's mystic charms
Weaving downy dreams at will

He recounts forgotten tales of yore
Of bloody battles won and lost,
Of lovers united, amour defiled, ...

Face Of The City

The glow of a late Autumn Sunset,
Gleamed over the dense city streets.
Rushing wheels and honking horns,
Halted awhile for the traffic signs.

Through the rows of rushing motors,
Men on bikes ploughed their way.
They squished and squeezed through every gap,
Caring a naught for the traffic rules.
