But the fall shouldn't deter us from dreaming

I bid adieu to the departing year
Reverently, with harp and lyre, with my being entire
And would greet the unfolding New Year
With my eyes glistening, with heart aflutter

Stretching our arms towards the exalted skies
As our eyes gaze upon the distant stars
Is a gesture magnificent, proclaiming human identity
The urge to rise up, to venture upwards constitutes beauty,

Nothing intoxicates like love impassioned
No wonder, immortals woo mortals damned,
Even courting damnation in the course hallowed
The illimitable, in passion unbound, shrank downward

We all meet on the sea-shore splendid, fabulous
Let us greet one another in total abandon marvelous
May the bliss of being sustain us, despite all possible perils
Meeting stirs in us waves of ecstatic ecstasy

And an ache strikes at my heart suddenly
