Varghese Kuncheria Poems
A Brother's Lament
The chill of the winter morning Brought me thoughts of mourning And I sat musing and moaning My brother never lived this morning
Yesterday is a day away The anxieties not given away As I learned to do away Not this day but every day.
Take A U Turn
Take a U Turn By Varghese Kuncheria
To The Dean
You can't contain me in A cubicle you put me in A citizen from high above Has a right place on earth
The Class Muses
The class muses as they gather The like ones do flock together They stroll through each verse Unable to swallow many words
Come to the lovely down The golden sands are lien Amidst lichen hills beset Barren but sparkling yet.
Come September come Time of harvest festival Time of relishing Time of peace and harmony
A straight sandy beach Long walk I decide to take Waves rocking beside Cool breeze evokes my spirit
Rocky Mountain peaks Clouds moving over the cliff Sky is overcast Gloom prevails over the land
Vacation to end Desires within unending So painful to leave Life is such a long journey
Leaving is painful Such a time to leave has come A look of angush Yet a time to look forward
To The Dean
You can't contain me in
A cubicle you put me in
A citizen from high above
Has a right place on earth
Did I not behave upright?
Though at times not so right
Yet never crossed the limit
But did I get things right?
