She set off, to celebrate her stay
In her village, with her mom and dad, following a long time.
“Dreadfully, aspiring to see them”, she came to me
I remembered her say, “I wish to repose on my father’s shoulder;
but seldom relished this occasion in recent times
I glanced at her and smirked; and said to myself, “She is too slushy.”
My love for her doubled and eventually amplified
Her travel was by train. I accompanied her till the station
While leave taking, “I miss you”, she said, in a sluggish tone
I held her hand and appealed, “When do I see you again? ”
“Couple of days”, she tried to console.
Even a moment doomed an extensive time for me
Couple of days echoed in the vein of couple of weeks
It was like peas in a pod for her too
but didn’t intend to defy her keenness to visit her village though
I desired belated arrival of the train
So that I enjoy her company for a few more minutes
To my ill luck, the train arrived and rested; in a moment, it resumed its vocation.
As it moved, the silence in me augmented
Her head peeped out of the windowpane; did not reverse till she lost my sight
I waved my hands so long I witnessed her view
After she vanished, I twisted my mind to the usual events
But, failed to seize it, haunting her presence
On her return, she called me.
“I’m on my way”, she said, now in a piercing tone
Did not see in my mind’s eye, such an early come back
Still, my concealed sense was in distress
