Thunder

Far from a window pain a crack of thunder ring's out, then
a murmured strain, into a sharpened silence of the night,
with wind chilled by fright, the heart thumping inside the
chest the eyes widened with shock, the owl cries upon the
wind, and the stars hidden by blackened clouds that flock.
By foot takeoff into the night, and follow thunderous strike,
