William Verbaud Poems
Hunger Damn Hunger
Hunger had left me succumbed to the elements Your livelihood in peril, My honor compromised All to stay alive
A Lone Traveler
Snow covers the trees and roads My tires make smooth black canyons in the bleak white road The ride is long but the distance is short My mind races backwards replaying the night’s failure
Dreams Of Adam
The wonderful sounds and sight that penetrate the mind A crash of the tree of knowledge has fallen at my feet And the fruit I indulge is blood on my hand, but keeps my hear beating My affection once an innocent being is now an exponential muse to the sight
You are my sweetest forbidden fruit And our hearts may be slightly used But so is sight; a wondrous thing of beauty.
I feel blissfully indifferent to the ink spewing from my lips In a moment devoid of shattering voices the constant shockwaves of bass tones go deaf and I only hear myself having a conversation
Duality: Life Cycle: Duality
A twelve year old girl Standing roadside shoeless In dirty Sunday garb, draped over shoulders Smoking a cigarette and laughing
What is love? Being able to watch some one sleep Being able to be silent and stare across the table in to the person’s eyes To go dancing in the rain
If my reflection be not absent, but untrue, am I to assume that I be dead? A mirror be but a visual tool for the living, But a tool for eyeing transcendent souls is lost among poet’s
time space location insanity something no words too much space not enough barriers?

My honor compromised
All to stay alive
That which I took
