The Unanswered Question Poem by Spriha Roy

The Unanswered Question

Rating: 5.0

In a world warm outside, yet within, it's icy cold,
Why this paradox, untold?
Can you answer why?

People come and go, lingering by the door,
Gazing at the chilling creature on the floor,
Why this scene, what's in store?
Can you answer why?

No words of love, no hands to lend,
Only sympathy they extend,
Why this trend?
Will it ever end?
Can you answer why?

Once human, now a beast, emotions sold,
In this transformation,
What truth is told?
Can you answer why?

Yearning for the end,
But not to cause dismay,
Why persist in this peculiar way?
Can you answer why?

In this unanswered question's fray,
The poetry of life holds sway.
