Thomas Dooley Poems

Ledged's rumor puts shame to my name
As the Kingsmen sing it every day
They still get paid it only fades with age
...

I wake up the same way every day
Get out of bed one foot at a time
Even when some times I want to stay
Got those morning pain I know I am alive
...

Lost my dream when you looked me in the eyes
In you I thought I found a new dream, it was just a lie
Truth to a lifetime now the choices was mine
...

I sit down in my own peace
Focused on a light that only I can see
Because it is what is inside of me
...

A word to grow
A seed in the soul

Hold to a phrase
...

I am a soul
This I know
Contained in a body I am not alone
...

17 years since I last saw you
I wonder did you lose me or did I lose you
Ever since that day I made that move
...

In this cycle of life, I look to see a land
Where peace, love and purity was created by Gods hands
The smell of tamarind, incense and many other things fill the air
I don't care just happy to be here
...

A run away for the south east
Fought through the storms of family
Chasing after love was all she could see
...

She got a hand for every one of her virtues
Showing goals a path for the soul
There is nothing she can do
...

She was 19 and alone
No place to call her own
Two packed bags was all she called home
...

It has been too many days since I heard from you girl
Too many days since the scent of you filled the room

Photos of you and me on the shelf they just show the passing of time
...

A lie has been forced on you
It tells you what to think and what to do
You believe the wisdom of a fool
Without any facts or proof
...

She was five foot five every hug she gives is just a lie
She had Jasmine Guy kind of eyes
Without the same kind of style or smile
A rice and peas kind of lady
...

Remember that winter night
In the snow, we would play
Catching snowflakes on our tongues
That was the time we felt so young
...

16.

Can't look me in the face
When all you got is hate
I stay here to make a change
You leave because of a false reality
...

The sun pokes its face
Through the gray haze
From the rough top
I sit in my own peace
...

18.

Songs of wisdom from the heart
Letting you know in life you have a bigger part
A song that feeds the mind
It is the one you heard a million times
...

Drips of a dream found in these tears
No sadness love is all I can hear
The voice of the soul whispers in my ear
...

When it all comes to an end
Will you continue to have friends
Or will you be faced down or dust in the wind
In this game of life who will ever win
...

I am still the same
But everything is new

Sharing my birthday with flag fondling tyrant
Don't want to be associated with that
My conception is a good reason for calibration

First of June
I just want to hear that new tune
Just want to feel that muse

Art is where it all starts
Something this cool has nothing to prove
Keep doing what you do

First of June
I got find my own path
No need for directions from any man

Get up and dance like you got, soul
Just want to let you know you are a soul
Now let everyone know

First of June
