Laura Said She Loves Me Poem by Kevin Hulme

Laura Said She Loves Me

Rating: 4.0

Laura said she Loves me
As soon as the Spring was born,
I was all to her and more to be
Myself her Heart is sworn.
Life! You Clown, you Jester
You'll not kick me around,
Though the health could be a lot better
My Finance ever more sound.
No ‘Movie Star' looks and a bit of a fool
What hair is starting to recede,
I was never the exemplar of fashion and cool
In short I've underachieved.
But Laura said she Loves me
As soon as the Spring was born,
It's the very design you didn't foresee
With your High Jinx and your scorn.
