The fairytale record Poem by Marcel Beyer

The fairytale record

First it's the goodbyes, the excursion, the label.
First it's the morning, the squeeze of mustard
and your profile. The crackle

over lunch, and the soft cloth. What's with
your plaid coat, the name, the dust on the sapphire
and the afternoon recording. First it's supper,

a breather, then the fairytale record.
