Camouflage Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Camouflage

by Freeyad Ibrahim

Don't think that I am smiling, that is insane
The sorrow behind my tears does my agony explain
Neither despair is my garment nor sorrows that break me,
my wound is stubborn won't heal again
Do not think that I am dancing among you for joy
The bird dances, slaughtered in pain
If you see the fangs of the lions, don't think he is smiling
Showing the teeth widely may detain disdain
Love what you have before life teaches you to love what you lost
Rarely happens what you do accepts both the heart and the brain
The dwarfs are short must have got short shadows
If you see dwarves with a long shadow, know
that the sun is on its way to setting again
