Seven Black Spots (The Ladybird) Poem by john (called jack) wren

Seven Black Spots (The Ladybird)

Take care my friend as you fly along
furnishing flowers with a kiss and a song
searching for nourishment for wee frame
oblivious to the wind and rain
biding your time on stem and leaf
waiting patiently like a diligent thief
for unwary souls that may pass by
greeting their presence with a grin and sigh
there's red for danger stamped on your back
and seven painted spots of the most delicate black
seven black spots there to behold
one for each day of the week, I'm told! ! ! ! ! ! !
