When I Can't Hold You Poem by Larry Perry Sr

When I Can't Hold You

You are the glue that holds everything together without you everything falls apart, When I Can't Hold You

Just like Humpty Dumpty who sat on the wall, as we know all his King's men couldn't put him back together again after his fall

With you my life begans, without you my life will end and there's nothing that could put it back together again, When I Can't Hold You

When I Can't Hold You I'll be broken into pieces just like Humpty Dumpty, that couldn't be put back together again

My day's are blue from being away from and missing you When I Can't Hold You

When I Can't Hold You my day's are long without you, leaving my nights exhausted for when I lay my head down to sleep

My body is restless and my mind is tired, ready to retire for the night

I'm holding my pillow loosely because your body isn't here for me to hold tightly,

I'm tossing and turning, can't sleep well without you by my side when I lay my head down to sleep When I Can't Hold You

I expect to awoke to you and your beautiful smile in the morning, but my sleep is interrupted throughout the night from missing holding you tight

When I Can't Hold You my pillow is the only thing that I can hold, but I hold it loosely because the only thing I want to hold tightly is you

When I Can't Hold You my whole night is through, sleep no more are not in the cards for me anymore from missing you lying beside me

When I Can't Hold You what the use in going to bed, trying to sleep when all I will be doing is tossing and turning thinking of you althrough the night

Because you're not here for me to hold you tight to make my night's sleep just right When I Can't Hold You I want have a good night's sleep anymore until I can hold you throughout the night once more
