Denial. Poem by Owembabazi Bennitah (Kirabo Writes) .

Denial.

In shadows deep
Where I dwell in denial
Where truth is shunned against me.

It masks my eyes,
Failing to see and reason right
Leaving reality far behind.

With whispered lies around me
It unveils my heart leaving me in total despair
Tearing worlds of truth far apart.

We find solace so sweet
But beneath the surface
We try to find truthfulness.

Denial being so distant,
Causing fragile bruises to the humane,
Where fleeting comfort often lies and seldom breaks.

For us to embrace
What's truly real
Is where the wounded soul can heal.

Denial.
