Some People To Power Poem by Francis Duggan

Some People To Power

Some people to power they do desperately cling
To them it happens to be everything
By narcissistic autocrats millions of people have been oppressed
They can be cruel and dangerous the self obsessed
Anyone who does not agree with them is counted among their foes
Their army and their police murder all of the people who them oppose
Their victims buried without ceremony in mass graves do lay
Dictators cling to power in a foul way
Their only means of clinging to power is by foul play
Most dictators for their crimes never made to pay
What goes around comes around in their case a lie
Far better people than they are in jail do die
The worst crimes they commit for to cling to power
They are the weed that does stifle the flower.
