Song Of A Tormented Child

They remind us of our
inadequacy
make us hold on to the pain of yesterday
Old ghosts haunt us during the day
and let us grow bitter...

The demons crawl into our
dreams at night
They show us the scars,
Remind us of our struggle
and revive the anger...

we lack the strength to exorcise ourselves of the demons
We lack the power to fight the ghosts
So we sit back, allow the anger to grow back
and let the bitterness arise again

We're double-faced
Got both beauty and the beast
The weakness within is the beast
Out of the beauty that everybody sees

Only if we could face our demons
Only if we could fight the ghosts
Maybe we would've had lighter hearts
The smiles would have been from deep inside
And the love would've been
enough...
