Behind That Smile

What if behind that smile,
Was so many tears you could'nt imagine?
What if behind those eyes of hope,
Were eyes filled with pain instead?
What if that carefree life,
Wasn't so carefree but filled with stress?
What if those innocent eyes with hope
And the brightest smile ever seen
And that one childhood,
Were gone forever?
Never to show a relieved or happy expression ever again?
Behind that so called 'perfect lifestyle'
Is an innocent person
Waiting for life to improve,
But instead it gets worse
Behind all that,
Is a person who can't get a break,
And who has to be strong no matter how hard things get
It doesn't matter what goes wrong
They have to stay strong
Not allowed to shed a tear
Behind that,
Is someone who is trying to forget about their hard life
Someone who just wants to be a kid
How can someone hide all that pain,
Behind that little smile?
