Benjamin Wampler Poems

Love is the rosé of the human nature.
Neither kind nor cruel
It's looks allure the tender soul,
Yet when touched its thorns bury into the hand.
...

The orchard, hidden Among trees graceful in their standing,
lacked not its own marked beauty;
its every inch covered in a light shadow that drew out the hews of its roses.
shadows cast by the graceful guards that stood around it,
...

Memories:
the odes of life
the last throes
belonging to the human mind.

Love is the rosé of the human nature.
Neither kind nor cruel
It's looks allure the tender soul,
Yet when touched its thorns bury into the hand.
Drawing a crimson stream that slithers down an artists pallet
Dying it all crimson.

Yet love remain, alluring those with tenderness to give
Love is neither kind nor cruel, it just is.

Love can drive one blind,
Causing one to catapult themselves into the fray,
Whether that be indulging ones self in the red wine of love on a blind date
Or bumping ones lover off in a fit of jealousy.
Love allures all, daring them to experiment with its thorny beauty.

Yet love endures, blossoming in the hearts of young and old,
Rich and poor,
Love is indifferent, beguiling one and all.

Love can be gentle,
calming the raging soul with a single touch.
Drawing the ravaged being into its gentle caress
Soothing the being of what ravages it.

Love can be tender, it's mere touch giving renewed vigor to the weary,
It can be goofy, drawing sides out of flat tires otherwise unknown.
It can be hep, guiding the weary traveler to wrest.

Yet love endures, continuing on without attention
Luring all into its embrace and guiding their emotions
Whether its guidance turns disastrous or helpful.

Love is boundless,
as easy to change its form as a child's dreams would.
It stifles in each person with a different form,
With a different cause
Driving each to achieve a different thing.

Love is both a destroyer and a life giver
A lover and a gyp
It is both fickle and accepting
Harming and healing
It can fill in all sides of an argument
Or crumble them all
It can cause peace or war
And kindness or hate.

Above all, love exists
It remains through time
Making its habitat in the body of the living
Appearing in its many forms.

Above all love just is
It exists indifferently,
Unaffected by the wars it causes.
It is a fickle double sided sword,
Changing from Harming to helping.
Never showing itself twice the same way
It's thorns hook in early,
And link one to the thing that harms and heals
It is both a cause and a solution,
Both kind and cruel.
Yet at the same time neither kind nor cruel.
It is both beautiful and wicked
Alluring with its looks
While sinking its thorns into ones hand.
