Hazel Eyes

Hazel eyes drip tears
Green ones holding them dear
She’s having a nightmare again
But he is there to defend
She’s crying out in her sleep
With every whimper his heart breaks
He can see the pain clear on her face
So he wraps her up in a gentle embrace
The cries from the nightmares are hurting her
But they are killing him
He tries so hard to help
But what he doesn’t know is
Without him they would be far worse
No one can reverse this curse
So Hazel eyes hide the pain
That Green ones see all too clear
