Death Of A Song Bird

Lonely does a song bird sing of fleeting memories

how he longs to share his song in perfect harmony

but there can be no polyphony if only one bird sings

so patiently he awaits for another who longs as he

for a song bird is but a ghost if alone he sings

Lonely does a song bird sing with a heavy heart

what could be a perfect melody is only but a dream

and under moon lit twilight his final hour is at hand

with summer gone he must move on to the bitter end

for a song bird is but a ghost if alone he sings

Lonely does a song bird sing on a broken whim

and like a thousand nights of symphony his final act begins

and like violins, even crickets play in tune with him.

for a song so sad even the glow of fireflys must dim

for a song bird is but a ghost, without another song bird with him....
