Some dream of an escape from reality
A break from day to day struggle.
Little do they know what this escape requires...
Some break out the bottle to douse the pain

Asphalt rays burn my eyes
Along with the heartless stares of passers-by
Dictated deceit
In every realm of reality
...

Body beaten; eyes tired and red,
Such is the life of the hands and the head
Aching joints and a worn mind
Week to week; day by day,
...

Do not torment the mind's perception;
Do not overdose on painful reflection.
Thoughts gain speed,
But principle holds power
...

Housed in Chains
Locked in Thought
Hardened by pain
Because Freedom's Bought
...

Dreamers search for more and more.
Realists forget what they're fighting for.
Ugly truths of life persist
Good men forget why they exist
...

Reality is the anchor that grounds us.
Existence is the chance we're given.
Love is what makes us whole.
Expression is how we show we're still living.
...

It slips away
When the mind is wandering....

A fair maiden lies wait in a far away tower
Perhaps enchanted by a magical spell
Lying in wait: It is her darkest of hours
Dreaming of escape- from her well kept Hell.
