My Heart

I only ever wanted the best for you,

The day you were born I remember it clearly, such a joy what a happy day.

And I promised myself I will do what it takes to make you safe,

I watched you grow and take hold, so happy so care free

Sports you liked, the struggle the effort the persistence you have

I enjoy watching you succeed I share your pain in failure

And now I watch you get older and grow into a young man,

My heart you break, because of the choices you now make,

I only ever wanted the best for you,
