Sun Daze
The fireflies that flood this summer's field
reflect the constellations in your eyes.
A gentle joke, shared with the space in my heart by the real.
At first, my teeth were still. Now, I laugh in waterfalls;
slowly, slowly dissolving the sand around my feet.
We will stand in the water
as still,
as silent as we can be,
hardly a laugh echoing from our lungs
and still
the ripples will move from us,
propelling silently along the mirror of mirrors
until they become home.
