Where Is The Love?

I wish I was a baby
To be hugged so tight
With a mother's love
Unconditionally.

I wish I was a toddler
So I can be watched with care
To be shown life's dangers
Only a mother is aware.

I wish I was a child
For my cheek to be caressed
Maternally as a mother would
Life should be so good.

The teenage years were good
But the cuddles were no more
You seem to be too old
For your mother to want to hold.

Now that I'm an adult
I feel like a discarded toy
Where is the love
Amother should enjoy.
