POEM

Faith has eyes and she can see
She can peer through the darkness 
and behold the brightness of his glory
She removes the veil from off of his face
She sustains herself in his presence and obtains his grace
She searches high and low to do his will
Through all the rubble and ashes to find the cast down stones
The stones that once bore a promise
She digs diligently through the earth
And one by one lays them on top of the other
Perhaps she can renew the times of old
He sees her labor
By the sweat of her brow
His fury as his weapon is then lowered to the ground
And his heart is moved with compassion
As he looks upon her in her futile mission
He walks over to her and sees the stones and recalls the glory days
When they were once a temple to his praise
Tears roll down his cheeks
And he puts up his sword, into its sheath
He looks upon her
As she is wearied by her struggle
He reaches out to her
Trying to relieve her trouble
He lays his hand on her
And she receives his strength
With his words he comforts her
And she is reassured
And his anger is stayed
However, he says, he will no longer inhabit this temple of old
But that her work will be for her an everlasting memorial
And she will inhabit the vessels prepared for his glory
with this promise she finds rest
Yet she ceases not, from her work but a new work he has given her to do
Breaking the hardness of hearts
And making them flesh
Power to take the old stones and make them as new
Pointing out the way
And laying down the path
She waits to see his day
The time of his return
When he shall receive them from her hands
And with them set up his sanctuary 
No longer to be separated
Beheld by her testimony.
