Smile Of A Child

Only for a moment I held her hand
And I felt privileged and happy as if it had been planned.
Her friendship and trust she gave me at first glance
And her prettiness and charm held me in a trance

Only for a moment a smile lingered upon her face.
And I felt privileged and happy as if I had been given grace.
Her smile of innocence and sweetness tugged at my heart
And her eyes so stark and deep were set wide apart.

Only for a moment I stood by her side
And I felt privileged and happy as If I was a bride.
Her smile radiated an aura of love and inner bliss
And her voice so soft and gentle had a child's delightful lisp.

I pray he will grow tall and straight like a tree
And her life ahead will be one of grace and serenity.
I pray no pain or sorrow will cloud her face.
And great spirits love she will forever embrace
