The Angel Child

I met Elizabeth
When she was two
She said, "I'm Elizabeth
Who are You?
She was in my dream.
Playing in a shallow stream,
In the sunlight.
Elizabeth started to put small cream
pebbles into her mouth.
I said, "No, No, don't do that!"
Elizabeth did as I said
And put the pebbles back
Into the shallow stream bed,
What a cute little girl!
She had a pout and a curl,
Who was this little child?
She was an angel child,
An angel sweet and an angel mild.
Unwanted on earth, she flew on wings
To learn all about heavenly things.
