Best Advice: READ and you will be read...and without stooping to prompting, especially here, in the forum, where prompting is kinda', sorto' looked upon as poetic prostitution...hmmm, yeah, thats it... 'course I could have said 'solicitation" ', but that would be a tad too jejnune and far less point effective, no?...FjR

    James, listen to Frank's advice though I'd change it to read (lots of good contemporary poets) and you'll be readable. Your " best" poem sounds like the lyrics of a rappish song. The trouble is good poetry needs to stand by itself without musical accompaniment, and your poem is the work of someone who knows little about the art form he
    wants to succeed at. If you want to be readable, take this venture seriously. It's hard work, not just spilling words onto paper, but it's worthwhile work.
